There are many things in this world that deserve the fear that we have of them. But the amplification of those fears by those that have a forum to spread them on a global scale is something that’s kind of despicable not to mention harmful to the general public. Think about it, there are a great many individuals out there that will gladly take the words of those they hear over the radio and the TV as gospel without looking up the information on their own and making up their own mind as to what is really worth being afraid of.
The fear-mongering tactics of both sides, yes, both sides, is horrible since they position themselves to play the people against one another as individuals decide based on their own personal biases and feelings. Those that seek to reason with both sides, to try and tell their fellow citizens, that fear-mongering is being used and doing more damage than anyone cares to admit, are often ignored. The fear must be real, it must be valid, and it must be something that’s coming from authority as one of their fellow human beings in a high place is saying it.
It makes a person wonder if anyone ever thinks for themselves any longer.
Remember back in 1999 when people thought the world was going to end in 2000? Can you recall when so many thought that the world was going to come to an end in 2012 thanks to the Mayan calendar? Then why would anyone think that AOC’s prediction that our world will end in 12 years if we don’t change our ways? The world could end tomorrow for all we know or not for another thousand years. The consensus among the scientific community seems to be that an end is coming, but where they disagree is how it will happen, and thus fear-mongering is kind of pointless unless you’re trying to gather the sheep and convince them that they’re all doomed no matter which way they turn.
Wake up folks.
