So what challenges do you face every day? Do you get up to go to work? Do you struggle to make it to the gym? Are you struggling to pay your bills? What challenges are there in your life that need to be met continually, and which ones scare you the most? Some might say that they have no such issues in their lives, that there’s no real challenge to their day, but that’s just not so. We’re challenged by everything from the moment we wake up and decide to get moving to the moment we figure out that life is going throw a roadblock in our path no matter what we do. It could be something simple to get by or it could be a situation that warrants a little more attention, but the challenges we face every day are very real and they’re very persistent.
Some might want to de-stress by limiting how many challenging things they have to do per day, which is all well and fine. But don’t limit yourself by shying away from the challenges. Embracing your challenges and taking them as they come is a lot easier than pushing them off and pushing them off, as this tends to allow them to build up until it’s no longer a challenge but an inevitability that things will have to get done. By limiting yourself to how many challenges you can answer in your average day you can avoid a lot of stress, but at the same time you can get kind of lazy as well. Pushing yourself to new limits is often a beneficial practice since it can unlock the kind of potential that many people don’t realize they have.
Don’t be daunted by the challenge.
Whether it’s a daily challenge that has to be met or something you’ve never done before those big challenges usually have big payoffs that come in one form or another. Taking on that mountain of laundry might not mean much in the long run but once it’s done you feel a lot better and can relax for a while. Taking on that actual mountain can be just as appealing since by the time you’ve reached the top you might be tired, sore, and aching, but the sense of achievement you feel makes it all worth it. Big or small, challenges that stand in your path are best confronted right then and there if possible, as the satisfaction that comes from completing them is far better than the feeling of having so much to do and so little time.
Challenges aren’t meant to be easy.
Challenge is change, and change can be scary for a lot of people. But change is also quite necessary since without it we never go anywhere, do anything, or even fully develop into the people we want to be. By challenging yourself to do something at least once a day you can find that you’ll feel a sense of accomplishment with each new challenge you accept and take on. Success isn’t always guaranteed, but experience is something you’ll never miss out on.
Take a daily challenge, no matter what it might be.
